Welcome to PortHuronFloatDown .com the official site of the annual reunion of the Port Huron Float Down ,  sponsored by the volunteers of the River Rat Society.

This year’s float down was on Sunday August 16,  started at 1 p.m. from Lighthouse Park beach in Port Huron, MI and ended at Chrysler Beach in Marysville, MI .

Over 5000 participants (closer to 6000 by our count), with every type of float imaginable, came to take part in the what has to be one of the country's largest float downs.

The day was sunny and 88 degrees, and the wind ... well the wind did a great job of pushing everyone out into the channel, then stopping everyone's forward progress once they were out of the channel.

But fun was had by all, and now we start to plan for the next one.

Check back here often for updates and news about the 2010 Port Huron Float Down.
